Thank you, Ward 6, for your vote of confidence. I’m looking forward to continuing to serve you as your ward councillor.
I want to thank my dedicated volunteer team for their efforts. Together, we knocked on 4,730 doors and had 2,121 conversations with my neighbours in Ward 6. I also want to thank my campaign manager and wife, Kate, who always knew just when and how to keep pushing us forward.
Congratulations to our new Mayor, Dave Jaworsky, newcomer Brian Bourke in Ward 2, and re-elected councillors Angela Vieth, Diane Freeman, and Mark Whaley. Along with Melissa Durrell and newcomer Bob Mavin, who were acclaimed, we have a solid team at city hall.
And there is a lot of work ahead. I look forward to sitting down with my new and returning colleagues on Council to chart our path forward. We will soon have a budget to consider and a strategic planning process to launch. Community involvement is critically important to those and will ensure that the Waterloo we continue to build will be one we build together.
