Yesterday, Mike Connolly passed away.

He served his community with passion and a dedicated focus to the issues he cared about, including nearly 11 years on local municipal councils.

I saw a lot of Mike over the past year – from the campaign trail last year and, regularly, on the Northdale Special Project Committee. The night before his eventually fatal brain hemorrhage, he was in full form at a meeting of the committee, pushing to further entrench the vision of the group he represented.

Our great community is always served better by those who passionately engage in trying to make it better, and so we are worse off today for no longer having the voice of Mike Connolly around the Waterloo table.
